Meet Siskiyou County.

Siskiyou County is where you can experience what Northern California is all about. Our area is filled with natural wonders, offbeat small towns, and unique historic sites.

The Cascade Range, including Mount Shasta, is one of the county's most prominent features. The mountains are easy to access from Interstate 5, and are a great place to enjoy four seasons of outdoor activites. Highlights of Siskiyou County include Mossbrae Falls, Dunsmuir Botanical Gardens, the Upper Sacramento River, Tule Lake National Wildlife Refuge and Castle Lake.

Historic towns, such as the logging town of Weed, Gold Rush boomtown of Yreka, and railroad town of Dunsmuir are what really make Siskiyou unique. Visiting them, and exploring their history, will give you a deeper understanding of what makes our part of Northern California so special.

What to do.

At Trailer Lane Campground, you're never far from Siskiyou, Shasta, and Trinity County's best attractions.

Mount Shasta is 11 miles south of our park, with dining and shopping and plenty of mountain town charm. And we're a quick 30 minutes from the slopes at Mt. Shasta Ski Park.

If you're interested in watersports, Lake Shastina is about 10 miles north of us and is popular for wakeboarding and waterskiing. For those who prefer kayaks and paddleboards, Lake Siskiyou is about 16 miles to the South. With it's crystalline waters and tree-lined shores and even a Splash Zone waterpark for the kids, it's the picture perfect place to spend the day.

Fly-fishermen will want to stop into the legendary Ted Fay Fly Shop in Dunsmuir before enjoying the breathtaking beauty and world-class fishing on the Upper Sacramento.

Hikers will have a hard time choosing which of the 15 waterfalls in Siskiyou County that they want to hike to first!

What to eat & drink.

Weed and the surrounding area has a number of excellent restaurants and bars for you to enjoy.

For breakfast, head on down to Mount Shasta for some fresh baked pastries at Yaks Shack. For lunch, stop into Mount Shasta Brewing in Weed and try a panini in The Bistro. Then for dinner head over to Highland House at the Mount Shasta Resort. Stop into the lounge for cocktails and a beautiful sunset before enjoying steak, seafood or pasta from the dinner menu on the deck or in the restaurant.

Need more suggestions? Stop into the office and ask - we'll help you find just what you're craving!

Reviews

Really nice little park. It was nice to get out of a big pavement park and just enjoy the forest. Great nature trail behind the park that had benches along the way to the top which had gorgeous views of Mt. Shasta and the valleys below. My dog loved seeing deer for the first time on our walk.

So glad we stumbled upon Trailer Lane. It was a mile past our exit to Hwy 97 but a really good find. Quiet, beautiful scenery in the pines. Clean & well run. Our 41ft heavily loaded 41ft Entegra made it nicely down the country road, just off I-5 in Weed, CA.
